Short answer: you can’t open Stripe in Bangladesh or Pakistan — Stripe does not support businesses registered there — and PayPal does not open accounts for people living there. Many freelancers and agencies solve this by registering a company in the US or UK, opening a business bank account for it, and then applying to Stripe or PayPal as that company. It can work well, but approval is never automatic.
Why there is no Stripe in Bangladesh (or PayPal)
- Stripe lists the countries where businesses can sign up. Bangladesh and Pakistan are not on the list.
- PayPal has no account sign-up for residents of Bangladesh or Pakistan. Xoom, PayPal’s remittance service, can send money to family there, but it is not built for client payments.
That leaves many skilled freelancers and agencies with clients who want to pay by card or PayPal — and no way to accept it.
How a US or UK company helps
Stripe and PayPal both serve businesses registered in the US and the UK. With a company there, you can apply as that business. The usual order is:
- Register the company — a Wyoming LLC or a UK Ltd.
- Get the tax ID — an EIN for a US LLC. A UK company gets its company number straight away.
- Open a business bank account in the company’s country. Stripe pays out to a US or UK bank account, and PayPal needs one linked.
- Build a simple website that shows what you sell, your prices, contact details, and refund and privacy policies.
- Apply to Stripe and PayPal with true, consistent information.
What a company does not do
This is where many people get burned, so we say it plainly:
- It does not guarantee approval. Stripe and PayPal review the owner too — identity, where you live, your website and your business model.
- The bank account is often the hardest step, because many US fintechs restrict owners living in Bangladesh or Pakistan. See Business bank accounts for non-resident LLCs.
- Extra checks can come later. In our experience, PayPal may ask for an SSN or ITIN to raise a US business account’s receiving limit.
- Never misrepresent where you live. False information is the fastest way to have funds frozen. A real company, true details and a professional website are what get accounts approved and kept.
Tip: applications go best when the company name, address, website and bank details match exactly across every form. Small differences — a missing suite number, an old phone number — trigger manual reviews.

Frequently asked questions
Is it legal to use a US company to accept payments?
Yes, when the company is real, you use your true details, and you meet your tax obligations in both countries. Speak to a tax adviser in your home country about reporting the income.
Will Stripe approve my US LLC?
It might. Stripe decides after reviewing you and your business. We cannot promise approval, and nobody honest can.
Do I need a website?
Practically, yes. Payment providers check that a real business with clear policies sits behind the account.
